Salary is $25-$30/hour, depending on experience.  Benefits are not offered.

This part-time position will require approximately 19 hours/week during the fall and spring. No weekend or evening hours.

The University of Baltimore's Langsdale Library is seeking an experienced librarian to fill a newly-created part-time Metadata Librarian position.  Responsibilities include providing original and complex copy cataloging for physical and online materials in all formats, primarily print and electronic monographs and serials, audiovisual materials, and University theses and dissertations.  Assist department head in evaluating new methods of obtaining catalog records and in planning the provision of non-MARC metadata to provide access to digital materials.

Required:  ALA-accredited master’s degree in library/information science.  One year post-MLS or paraprofessional cataloging experience in an academic, public, or special library.  Familiarity with MARC, AACR2/RDA, Library of Congress Subject headings, and LC classification.  Experience with an ILS and OCLC Connexion.  Awareness of current issues and trends in cataloging and metadata.
