Founded in 1925, the University of Baltimore is a member of the University System of Maryland and is comprised of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Public Affairs, the Merrick School of Business, and the School of Law. We are located in mid-town Baltimore bordering the Mt. Vernon cultural district, Station North Arts District, and the world-class Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. We are convenient to Baltimore public transportation, a short train ride from Baltimore’s Penn Station to Washington, DC, and near BWI Airport.

The Director of Undergraduate Admission is the administrative officer with primary responsibility for the recruitment of new undergraduate students and the evaluation of their applications for admission.  The Director is also responsible for the achievement of enrollment goals for new undergraduate (freshman and transfer) students.  The Director will envision the recruitment strategy for these students and provide administrative leadership for the planning, day to day operations, and execution of the recruitment strategy for traditional undergraduate (freshman and transfer) programs. The Director of Undergraduate Admission will develop programs and opportunities for undergraduate (freshman and transfer) students to experience the potential of the University, with the ultimate goal of increasing enrollment.  The Director will manage the admission staff, providing training on admission processes, and will coordinate recruitment events, achieve attendance objectives and oversee recruitment travel.

Key Responsibilities include:

Achieve undergraduate (freshman and transfer) enrollment goals and support the achievement of the University’s annual enrollment goals.  Collaborate in the setting of those goals.

Plan and manage the recruitment of undergraduate (freshman and transfer) students, including prospect cultivation, active recruitment of prospects and applicants, and the processing of applications.

Manage undergraduate admission counselors and provide ongoing training and developmental assistance in order to create a team of professionals with the skills needed to meet the University’s enrollment goals.

Oversee the generation of standard and ad hoc statistical reports and data exports related to undergraduate (freshman and transfer) admission.  Utilize statistical reports to implement data driven enrollment strategies.

Participate in the development of and manage the communication strategy (online, print and social network) in the undergraduate admission office.  Refine the communication strategy as necessary based on results.

Represent Enrollment Management on a variety of internal and external committees
dealing with undergraduate (freshman and transfer) admission, as assigned.

•Five years of progressively responsible experience in an admissions office with a proven track record of success in recruitment.
•Supervisory experience
•Experience utilizing statistical reports to implement data driven enrollment strategies and to evaluate counselor productivity.
•Experience with student information systems (PeopleSoft preferred) including general understanding and knowledge of the admission module, query management and integration.
•Proven ability to motivate staff and sustain a commitment to customer service during periods of high volume activity.
•Ability to lead a team in a changing environment and support leadership efforts to promote strategic plans.
•Experience developing and utilizing training materials which document workflow and office policy and procedure.
•Ability to multi-task in work that is highly complex and varied in nature; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
•Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams; ability to balance the needs of multiple clients and assist diverse offices negotiate workable solutions to issues as they arise.
•Superior communication, organizational and interpersonal and relationship building skills.
•A proactive customer service orientation.
•Ability to work with diverse populations.
•Ability to work autonomously and confidentially and make independent decisions, as appropriate.
•Ability to set/attain goals and to initiate and follow through with new projects with minimal direction.
•Highly motivated self-starter with ability to contribute to and maintain a high-energy, high-volume office.
•Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.

•Use the dropdown to enter your highest education level.
•Then, only college and university information is required. Click the plus sign to the left of the “Postsecondary Education” link to enter that information.
•For country, enter USA or click the hourglass to select another country.
•You can use the first day of the month wherever dates are required.
•Click the plus sign to the left of "References" to enter two professional references.
•After you enter your education information and references, click “Save,” then click “Next.”

3. How did you find out about us/how did you find out about the job?

•After you enter this information, click “Save,” then click “Next.”

4. Online Questionnaire/Application Questionnaire: There are three questions requiring a yes or no response. After you answer these three questions, click “Submit.” This leads you to the Submit Online Application page.
