Presidential Search

We are the University of Baltimore

The University of Baltimore is a special place. Since its founding in 1925, it has had only seven presidents. Each of these leaders has left an indelible mark on the institution, whether it's through academic programs, physical spaces or University priorities. Now, as we prepare to welcome new leadership that will help UB to meet the changing times and the evolving needs of its students, we want to tell our story and perhaps brag a little about how far we've come.

The University of Baltimore is conducting a nationwide search for its eighth president.

William E. Kirwan, chancellor of the University System of Maryland, has announced the appointment of a search and screening committee for a new president of the University of Baltimore, one of the system's 12 institutions. Robert L. Bogomolny announced in September that he will step down as president of UB at the end of the academic year.

The committee's work will conclude with its recommendation of finalists for consideration by the chancellor and the USM Board of Regents. The board will make the final selection.

"President Bogomolny has left a legacy that will make a strong, positive difference in the years ahead both for the University of Baltimore and in the city of Baltimore itself," Kirwan said. "I am very pleased with the breadth of experience of the search committee members and their dedicated commitment to the University."
