Meeting basic needs: Structural inequality and public services in Baltimore
Presenters: Stephanie Dolamore and Caitlin Rathe
With recent crises in Baltimore’s public sector related to policing, budgeting, education, public health and more, do we see the past replaying in the present? An analysis of the city’s housing and food policy from the 1960s-1990s may help us address some contemporary challenges.
This symposium highlights two Langsdale Library summer fellows’ research, which examines the administration, policies, and provision of food and housing services in Baltimore. This work was made possible through the resources in the archives at Langsdale Library and with support from the University of Baltimore Foundation’s Fund for Excellence.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
