Charles Tiefer, professor in the University of Baltimore School of Law, will testify at a House Committee on the Judiciary hearing on Wednesday, July 30, concerning alleged improprieties of IRS officials acting against political groups. Tiefer served as solicitor and deputy general counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives for 11 years prior to joining the UB law faculty in 1995.
The hearing concerns whether the committee should appoint a special counsel to investigate the IRS for allegedly targeting certain political groups and organizations. In addition to his written statement, Tiefer will be one of only three witnesses to appear before the committee.
The hearing will be streamed live on the House's website.
