Absolutely. UB is well served by public transportation options like the MTA Light Rail, Metro Subway and bus system as well as MARC commuter rail, Amtrak and Bolt Bus out of Penn Station, just a block from campus.

After the shuttle bus stops running, UB community members can request escort service among UB facilities (including parking facilities) from the Department of Public Safety.

Yes. There is a free service, Guaranteed Ride Home, that provides commuters who regularly (twice a week) carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or take transit to work with a safe and reliable ride home when one of life's unexpected emergencies arise. Commuters may take advantage of this service up to four times a year to get home for unexpected emergencies such as a personal illness or a sick child.
