Nurse Interviewer

Schaefer Center for Public Policy

Description of Duties:

The University of Baltimore’s Schaefer Center for Public Policy seeks registered nurses to conduct in-person interRAI™ Home Care assessments of people seeking long term care and supports. The interviews will be conducted using a web-based assessment tool in the individuals’ homes located throughout the state of Maryland. Selected candidates will be trained in the use of the assessment tool. Employees will be required to drive to the interviews throughput Maryland. There may be limited overnight travel required. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to state of Maryland and University regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 

• Skill in using an assessment tool to collect information or ability to learn to use an assessment tool to collect information;
• Skill in providing accurate documentation and record keeping;
• Ability to learn to use a tablet-style computer to enter data into a web-based assessment tool.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Minimum Education and Experience
 

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse for the required education.
• Candidates also may substitute two years of experience as a registered nurse for the required education.

Preferred Experience
 

• Experience working with the elderly and/or disabled populations.
• Experience conducting in-person interviews

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications

• Candidates must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
• Employees selected for this position will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle and driving throughout Maryland. Employees selected for this position will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the state of Maryland and have daily access to a reliable means of transportation that allows them to drive throughout the state of Maryland.
• Candidates for the position will be required to pass a background check.
