Provides administrative and complex clerical support to the Office of Human Resources. Primary responsibility is to serve as receptionist to busy Human Resources Office. Position also processes Tuition Remission, provides support for training and benefits, and assists job candidates in using the computer kiosk to apply for positions at UB.
Specific responsibilities include:
Receives, screens and directs calls and visitors. Addresses a variety of routine questions and triages more complex issues to appropriate staff member.
Receives various forms from campus personnel; reviews forms for completeness based on knowledge of policies and procedures; processes completed forms. Complete employment verifications as needed.
Coordinates tuition remission program; performs initial review of tuition remission forms for completeness; maintains spreadsheet for bursar’s office and USM reporting; sends UB forms to other institutions within stated deadlines.
Responsible for I-9 process, tracking new hires who need to complete the form, communicating with new employees and departments, and ensuring compliance.
Assist job candidates in applying for positions at UB using the computer kiosks. Also assist employees with completing online processes, such as the I-9 and creating an account with Central Payroll.
Supports benefits by creating new hire packets, updating paperwork, and receiving and reviewing forms as they come into the office.
Assist with special events sponsored and/or organized by the Office of Human Resources
Requires high school diploma and two years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources or higher education environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced office.

2. Education/Education History and References:
•Use the dropdown to enter your highest education level.
•Then, only college and university information is required. Click the plus sign to the left of the “Postsecondary Education” link to enter that information.
•For country, enter USA or click the hourglass to select another country.
•You can use the first day of the month wherever dates are required.
•Click the plus sign to the left of "References" to enter two professional references.
•After you enter your education information and references, click “Save,” then click “Next.”

•After you enter this information, click “Save,” then click “Next.”
4. Online Questionnaire/Application Questionnaire: There are three questions requiring a yes or no response. After you answer these three questions, click “Submit.” This leads you to the Submit Online Application page.
