The Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences of the innovative Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Baltimore invites applications for a faculty position in clinical or counseling psychology, beginning in August 2014.  

The successful candidate will exhibit strong potential for scholarly research that can lead to tenure and will give evidence of a commitment to teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.  Candidates should have credentials and interests that support the division’s counseling psychology master’s track, the development of specialty training in the areas of psychological assessment and veterans’ concerns, and the pursuit of MPCAC accreditation for our graduate program.  Service to the division, the college and university, and the profession will also be required.

The position requires a doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology, and licensure or license-eligibility as a psychologist in Maryland.  Training and expertise in psychological assessment and in treatment of veterans are highly desirable, as is graduate-level teaching experience.  Candidates should also have training and experience in the clinical supervision of counseling practica and internships.  Interest and/or experience in teaching statistics and research methods and/or physiological psychology at graduate and undergraduate levels will be considered a plus. This tenure-track position requires demonstrated potential for consistent scholarly productivity.

The Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences, located within the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, has eight full-time faculty members.  At the graduate level the division currently offers an M.S. in Applied Psychology with tracks in Counseling Psychology and I/O Psychology.  In addition, a post-master’s certificate in Professional Counseling Studies provides additional coursework required for licensure as a Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland.  The undergraduate B.A. in Psychology completes the programmatic offerings.  For more information about the Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences please visit http://www.ubalt.edu/behavioralsciences .
