Our Staff

Paul Walsh, Director of Instructional Technologies
Serving at the intersection of technology and education, Paul facilitates faculty awareness and use of available multi-media and discipline-based technologies to extend instructional and scholarly impact by connecting innovative pedagogy and learning resources. Paul directs the operations of instructional technology services including media services, learning spaces, computer labs, distance education, eLearning, and instructional support. A graduate of Towson University and Johns Hopkins, Paul has been working in the field of educational technology for nearly twenty years. He has a passion for empowering faculty and enabling student success.

Carl Hudec, Lab Manager
Carl earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Ohio Northern University (Ada, OH) and a Master of Science in Management from Florida Institute of Technology (Melbourne, FL).  Carl’s career and management experience includes construction and project management, procurement, software systems development, Systems delivery and training.  Prior to his arrival at UB, Carl owned and operated a business in the technology training field for several years.  Carl’s personal interests include professional sports, aviation, history, archeology and traveling.  He enjoys assisting clients in achieving their personal and academic goals by providing excellent services, facilities and equipment.
Shirley Mohammadi, Instructional Technology Manager
Shirley has worked for UB in the Instructional Technology group for over eight years. During this time, she has worked on a variety of projects including, managing/coordinating the daily operations of the unit, bids for electronic classrooms, procurement, equipment training, and other related tasks. Shirley loves to be challenged in her job; she is always looking for more opportunities to improve the operations of the unit. Shirley earned her Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Towson University, and a Bachelor of Science in History from University of Baltimore. She received a University of Baltimore Staff Award in 2005 for customer service to the UB community and earned Employee of the Quarter in 2006.
Shirley believes that outstanding customer service is the basis for providing support and maintaining good service for all of the UB campus.
