Safe Space Training: Become an Ally!

When:
Location:
Business Center
Room:
143
Description:

The UB Safe Space program helps to make the UB campus a safer and more free environment for all members of our community, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our members, also known as Allies, are students, faculty and staff who support and respect members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community. UB Allies are trained to understand sexual orientation and gender identity issues, including the implications of coming out and how to address discrimination and harassment on campus.

Allies can be identified by their UB Safe Space placard in their office and/or working areas. The sign serves as an indicator of people with whom LGBTQ people can speak openly and seek the support they need to succeed at the University of Baltimore.

Become an ally by joining us for this information Ally training. Please RSVP, as space is limited. For more information, please email at diversity@ubalt.edu.

This event fulfills the Global Perspectives requirement for Leadership UB certification. To find out more about Leadership UB, visit www.ubalt.edu/leadership.
