Law schools are interested in recruiting students who reflect rich diversity. Depending on the law school, diversity may include such characteristics as race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical disabilities, and socioeconomic status. The diversity information panel is an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to ask panelists for general advice about admission policies and application procedures. Attending these question-and-answer sessions is not a substitute for visiting law school representatives during forum hours, but they will allow participants to ask questions about the many unique challenges faced by students from diverse backgrounds.
This event features three sessions:
Professors Gilda Daniels, Audrey McFarlane and Michael Meyerson will demonstrate the power of legal reasoning by analyzing and presenting a case. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Students will share the reasons they applied to law school and why they chose UB. They will also discuss the importance of diversity in the classroom and the profession.
Mark Bell, director of diversity initiatives and recruitment at the School of Law, will present "Building a Better Applicant," a session on the basics of applying to law school.
