UB’s Investment Society Presentation about Equity Research
This event offers you an insight into the daily activities of an equity analyst and portfolio manager as well as a guide of how to conduct equity research and write a successful equity report. Our guest speaker is Barbara Rishel, Vice President Portfolio Manager and Equity Analyst from Hardesty Capital Management.

Speaker Bio:
Ms. Rishel is a 25 year veteran of the investment industry in Baltimore and an integral part of the Hardesty Capital Management team. She began her career as an Equity Research Analyst at the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland providing research expertise in industrials and telecommunications for the $1 Billion balanced investment portfolio. She then joined the team at Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust, providing equity research and co-managing the $30 Million commingled Growth Fund. As a Vice President of Research at the Adams Express Company, she was responsible for research in various sectors for the $1 billion equity portfolio. At Allied Investment Advisors (the predecessor firm to MTB Investment Advisors), her responsibilities as a Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager included co-managing the flagship $500 million Value Equity mutual fund and co-managing several other funds, including Equity Income and Multi-Cap Growth. Before joining Hardesty, Barbara was a financial advisor to high net worth clients at Citi Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch.
Ms. Rishel holds an M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore where she also received her B.S. in Finance.
