Join us for a celebration of the release of John Bessler's new book, The Birth of American Law: An Italian Philosopher and the American Revolution on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in AL 202.

Professor Bessler will discuss his new book, which tells the forgotten story of how a 26-year-old Italian philosopher, Cesare Beccaria, profoundly influenced the foundation of early American law, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Professor Tim Sellers and Professor C.J. Peters will provide commentary.
