Business Research Dialogue Series: "Trust in Financial Markets"

When:
Location:
William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center
Room:

Description:

The Merrick School of Business cordially invites you to our Research Dialogue Series.

This series allows Merrick Faculty to present an overview of their research to the wider UB community through a series of engaging talks. Faculty will host short talks designed to capture the interest of colleagues, students, and alumni. Research results will also be linked with implications for teaching and practice.

The April 29, 2015 faculty presenter is Mikhail Pevzner, associate professor of accounting. His talk is titled, "Loyalty Programs and Firm Profitability."

Prior research work shows that social capital influences the development of financial markets across countries. In this study Dr. Pevzner and his co-authors explore how the level of societal civic cooperation (i.e. tendency not to deviate from social norms) affects development of countries' auditing profession. We further explore how civic cooperation interacts with other institutional mechanisms in its effect on the demand for demand for audit services on a country level.

Join us on April 29 for Associate Professor of Accounting, Mikhail Pevzner, presentation, "Trust in Financial Markets."
