Fall 2013 Fantasy Football

Rookie Camp: (info for the beginners)
Fantasy football is a game in which you are the "owner" of your own team of NFL players. You will normally be in a league of about 8-12 people and you will draft a team of players from the NFL before the season begins. Every week, you will earn points based on the stats from your players. You will then compare your stats to another owner according to a schedule set up by the league and the owner with the most points will be awarded the victory for the week. Once the fantasy regular season is over, there will be playoffs for the owners with the best records. You may trade players with other owners and pick up free agents (players who weren't drafted) throughout most of the season.
It should be noted that you must have a yahoo account to participate. No need to worry, it is easy to get one. We'll show you at the meeting.
Seasoned Veterans:

Our point system is slightly different than the one used in default yahoo leagues. Check out the point system below. Basically, we set it up so that there were bigger bonuses for 300-yd passing, 100-yd rushing and 100-yd recieving games. Also, we made shutouts worth 15 points instead of 10 and we increased the penalties for missed field goals and interceptions. There will be several draft times available and you will rank those 5 draft times 1-5 in order of preference so we can try to get you to draft at the time most compatable with your schedule. The goal is to take everyone who wants to register for this event, and split them into groups of approximately 8-12. They will all have seperate draft times, as indicated by the preference they give to them upon registration. At the end of the season, the champion from each individual division will be eligible to participate in a playoff fantasy challenge. This may require joining ESPN.com or NFL.com, but it's the hand we're dealt. We'll deal with that when playoff time is nearing.
