The media lab will be closed for the duration of summer 2014.
The labs are only open during UB academic terms when the University is open; there is no provision for work outside of these hours. The lab follows the University schedule for weather-related closings.
The media lab includes dedicated media production and post-production facilities. Our audio studios house a variety of audio playback and recording devices. Multiple control rooms with digital audio consoles with moveable faders serve as both control surfaces and inputs for the connected Macintosh computer running Logic or Final Cut Pro software. A sound-proof studio is available for individuals or small ensembles to record in isolation, and the control rooms are both connected to a larger classroom studio for larger groups.
The classroom studio is equipped with ceiling-mounted LED studio lights with DMX controller and a cyclorama can be used as a backdrop. Large studio green screen and small portable green screen is also available. Finally, the lab’s remote recording equipment (audio, video, lighting, etc.) is available to students working on location projects.
