Public Safety Leadership Certificate
The Public Safety Leadership Certificate is specifically designed for public safety professionals who want to develop their leadership knowledge and skills. In this 12-credit certificate program, you will:
- learn about the evolving perspectives in leadership, personal leadership styles and competencies
- gain an understanding of the relationship of leadership and organizations relevant to public safety
- examine ethical and moral values, and professional responsibilities and decision making as they pertain to public safety
- diagnose real-world public-safety related issues and problems.

- CRJU 620 Management and Supervision in Criminal Justice
- CRJU 676 Systems and Applications in Criminal Justice
- CRJU 708 Leadership Development in Criminal Justice
- CRJU 718 Leadership in Public Safety Organizations
Admission Requirements
The following materials are required for admission into the Public Safety Leadership Certificate program:

Online application. Complete and submit the online application and pay the $50 application fee. Questions about the application should be directed to the Office of Graduate Admission (410.837.6565).

Personal statement. Detail your reasons for seeking a graduate certificate, your short-and long-term professional and personal goals, and how you think this certificate will help you achieve those goals. Please limit your statement to one page of text. Send the statement to documents@ubalt.edu.

Official transcripts. Request that an official transcript of all prior college or university work (including graduate transcripts, if any) be sent directly from each institution attended. Applicants to the Public Safety Leadership Certificate program are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Transcripts can be sent electronically to
documents@ubalt.edu.
- Writing sample. Submit a sample of your writing, such as a completed term paper, etc. to dcouments@ubalt.edu.
