Real Estate and Economic Development
This award is presented to the top undergraduate Merrick School of Business student(s) who demonstrate high academic achievement, leadership and service.
Karla Moses, B.S. ’12 - Real Estate and Economic Development
Moses has a vast list of accomplishments and awards during her college career. She had the ability to reach her goals while working, volunteering and raising her daughter. Among some of her shining moments include making the Dean’s List every semester, receiving the 2012 Certified Commercial Investment Minority Scholarship and the 2011 Commercial Real Estate Women Scholarship. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and is the past president of UB’s chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization. She’s worked as a student consultant in the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and is currently working as a legal assistant at the Law office of Herman Lawrence, Jr. and as an associate broker and principal of the Moses & McFadden Realty Group. Karla also volunteers at her daughter’s school and two faith-based development boards.
Tatiana A. Jimenez Senas, B.S. ’12 - Information Systems and Technology Management
Jimenez Senas is a Wilson Presidential Scholar and has imbedded herself into the UB community.
She is a Denit Honors student and an active member of the International Student Association.
She works as a translator and interpreter in UB’s Family Law Clinic and was involved in
LeadershipUB. In addition, based on her work at the U.S. Hispanic Youth Entrepreneur
Education organization, she had the vision to create a plan called
“Awaking a Community through Higher Education,” which will be developed
in her home country of Peru to help international students with their educational journey.
Each year the Merrick School of Business presents the Mary Lou Hudson Award to the
top female accounting student in this year’s graduating class. This year the award went to:
