Asad Rizvi, entrepreneur

I like to engage in conversations that stir thoughts. That’s a good way to describe my approach to business – and on life.

Asad Rizvi

Asad Rizvi was born and raised in Laurel, Md., but his life is filled with many international experiences. His early years were spent attending Prince George’s County Public Schools, but for four years he lived with his family in Saudi Arabia while his father worked at the King Faisal Special Hospital and Research Centre. He’s traveled to Canada, Great Britain, Pakistan, India, Egypt, the U.A.E. and the Netherlands. Now his life in Maryland is one of ambition, creativity and ingenuity. Rizvi has founded and co-founded several firms, including a recent venture in which he led a team of developers in the Nike+ Accelerator hosted by Techstars. His team reached the semifinals, and after the competition was over Rizvi became founder and CEO of xRaze, a mobile application and website development firm. But his entrepreneurial spirit does not end there - while at Howard Community College he founded two clubs, one in philosophy and another in development. Plus, he worked in the college’s public relations and marketing department. At UB, he is president of the student-run Coalition of UB Entrepreneurs also known as CUBE and he is also a Ratcliffe Foundation Scholarship recipient in the Entrepreneurship Fellows Program. When he’s not in class, he’s shadowing other business owners and picking up insights into the realities of modern business, or he’s indulging his passion for philosophy. As if that’s not enough, there is also his work in growing xRaze.
