The University of Baltimore Student Events Board will host a one-day car wash to raise funds for the House of Ruth on Tuesday, May 1 from noon to 5 p.m.
The event will take place in Morton Alley on the UB campus. The alley is located between the Academic Center and the UB School of Law. Drivers should enter the car wash at the intersection of Charles Street and Oliver Street, immediately past the Academic Center on the left side of Charles. Proceed down this street for half a block, and enter Morton Alley on the left. After the car is washed by UB volunteers, drivers can exit by proceeding to the end of the alley and turning right on to W. Mt. Royal Ave. This thoroughfare leads back to Maryland Ave., a one-way street running south and parallel to Charles.
Cash or check donations are welcome; there is a $5 minimum. Checks should be made payable to "House of Ruth-Maryland." The House of Ruth is one of the nation's leading domestic violence shelters, helping thousands of women and their children each year.
This event is sponsored by the UB Student Events Board, the Leadership Certificate Program, and the Helen P. Denit Honors Program. UB students who wish to volunteer are urged to contact Natalie Minor at natalieminor@yahoo.com.
The University of Baltimore is a member of the University System of Maryland and comprises the School of Law, the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts and the Merrick School of Business.
