Gamers of all kinds and all skill levels are invited to both design and test a variety of games at the 2015 Global Game Jam, locally hosted Jan. 23-25 by the University of Baltimore at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville.
The event, part of a worldwide "hackathon" focused on game development and demonstrations, will take place at the Shady Grove campus in Building III, Room 2219, at 9630 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville, Md. UB's Game Jam at USG runs continuously, starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23 and going on until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25.
Participation in USG's Global Game Jam is free, but registration is required. Those who participate can create a game, solo or as part of a team, or just come to observe the game development process. No experience is necessary—just a desire to make a cool game.
