KerryAnn O'Meara, associate professor of higher education at the University of Maryland, College Park and an expert in academic reward systems, faculty professional growth and careers, and faculty civic and community engagement, will give two talks at the University of Baltimore on Thursday, Feb. 19 as a guest of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Speaker Series.
O'Meara, who also serves as affiliate faculty in women's studies and co-principal investigator and co-director of the UMD ADVANCE program at College Park, will speak on "Organizing for Life-Work Balance in Faculty Careers" from noon to 1 p.m. that day (this is a brown bag lunch session), and on "Regarding Engaged Scholarship: Challenges and Opportunities," from 4 to 5 p.m. Both talks will take place in Room 1201 in the University of Baltimore School of Law's John and Frances Angelos Law Center, 1401 N. Charles St. The talks are free and open to all University of Baltimore faculty, staff, students and alumni.
