Officials from the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business are praising the growth of Betamore, a Baltimore-based business incubator and training center, which recently acquired nonprofit status.
Quoted in The Daily Record, Johnetta Hardy, director of UB's Center for Entrepeneurship and Innovation, and Tiago Ratinho, assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the business school, said Betamore's success is an essential aspect of the city's push toward a more entrepreneurial economy.
"[Betamore] is a great opportunity for small businesses," Hardy said. "People who are doing what they are doing always need sounding boards."
Ratinho added that Betamore provides key support from the private sector as the city builds out what the newspaper called an "entrepreneurial ecosystem."
