The University of Baltimore will host its fall commencement ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric, adjacent to the UB campus.
Major General Linda L. Singh, the state's 29th adjutant general, will deliver a keynote address. Singh, a member of the governor's cabinet, is responsible for daily operations for the Maryland Army National Guard, the Maryland Air National Guard, the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, and the Maryland Defense Force.
UB President Kurt L. Schmoke will offer greetings to the graduating students and their guests, and also lead in the conferring of all degrees. Schmoke will be joined in the greetings portion of the program by Gary A. Attman, representative of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents, and Stuart M. Goldberg, B.A. '70, J.D. '74, chair of the Alumni Advisory Council at the University of Baltimore Foundation. The presentation of candidates for degrees will be made by Murray Dalziel, dean of the Merrick School of Business, Christine Spencer, interim dean of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, and Roger Hartley, dean of the College of Public Affairs.
Student Jessica N. Taylor will offer remarks at the ceremony as the official Class of 2015 representative.
The University of Baltimore is a member of the University System of Maryland and comprises the College of Public Affairs, the Merrick School of Business, the UB School of Law and the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences.
