Alice Tasman, a literary agent with the Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency (JVNLA), will discuss the ins and outs of the publishing industry—including writing, editing, submitting to an agent, signing, and what to expect from the relationship—in an online conversation with University of Baltimore Assistant Prof. Betsy Boyd, director of the University's acclaimed MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts program. Tasman, a partner at JVNLA, has been a literary agent for more than two decades. She represents a diverse range of writers, with an emphasis on fiction. Her writers have earned numerous awards and honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Caldecott Honor, the Joyce Carol Oates Prize (Longlist), the American Library in Paris Book Award (Shortlist), the Edgar Award (Finalist), the International Thriller Writers Thriller Award (Finalist), the Grand Prix de L'Imaginaire (Finalist), the O. Henry Prize, and the Saint Francis College Literary Prize, among others.
