Programs and Initiatives

The University of Baltimore is committed to offering a career-focused education for aspiring and current professionals that provide the region with highly educated leaders. Often, situations arise or events outside of a student’s control can impact or alter their academic plan. Regardless of the type of hardship, the focus of the Basic Needs Virtual Resource Center is to provide every student with real support as they pursue their educational goals. The most important thing we want students visiting this site to know is that there are resources and services available to help meet their needs and that there is a team of individuals committed to providing this support.  On the Basic Needs Virtual Resource Center page, you will find links to various supports both here at the University of Baltimore and within the local community.

The University of Baltimore Campus Pantry was founded on the idea that no member of the campus community should experience hunger. The pantry provides critical food assistance and resources, as well as outreach and volunteer opportunities. It is supported through the generosity of campus and community members and benefits from strong partnerships.

The UBalt Campus Pantry is one of many resources offered to meet basic needs for the campus community. For additional access or support, please visit the CSEI front desk or call 410-837-5417 to schedule an appointment.

The University of Baltimore’s Career Closet provides UBalt students with clothing and accessories necessary to project a professional image – at no cost to the student. Students are able to get a free professional outfit that suits the needs of their professional endeavors.

The Career Closet is a donation-based resource with the goal of providing students with access to professional attire. The Career and Internship Center launched a pop-up Career Closet in 2018, providing students with an accessible and free way to dress for success. Due to its popularity, the Career and Internship Center implemented the Career Closet as a permanent, year-round resource for students.

Once you've completed graduation requirements, celebrate your college journey by participating in the Spring commencement ceremony. Learn more here.

The Bob Parsons Veterans Center connects you to the many resources available for military and veteran students at the University of Baltimore and offers support and resources in a military-friendly atmosphere.

Begin your UBalt career with an introduction to campus, with in-person and online orientation options.

CliftonStrengths is an online assessment tool with roots in positive psychology that helps identify five of your natural talents. By focusing on areas of strength rather than weakness, you capitalize on what you do best in the classroom, on the job and at home.

UBalt promotes growth and success by creating a strengths-based environment in which everyone is encouraged to recognize and apply their talents.

CliftonStrengths is offered free of charge to the UBalt community.

UBalt Connects is a mentorship program designed to empower students during their first-year experience by helping them:

  • Transition to the university
  • Connect with campus resources and services
  • Enhance their sense of belonging through a developed social network

UBalt's investment in these relationships help ensure students the support and resources they need to succeed at the Univeristy and beyond.
