Campus Safety
UBalt Campus Safety and Security
Policing on the campus of The University of Baltimore is managed by the University
of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). UBalt maintains responsibility for campus security performed
by unarmed, civilian security personnel known as Campus Safety and Security. Uniformed
officers from UMB—sworn, armed, and professionally trained and certified—are assigned
to patrol the UBalt campus. At the same time, our Safety and Security staff provides
building access and control, including office lockouts, welcome desk staffing, interior/exterior
patrols, etc. UMB police and UBalt security staff are in regular and constant contact.

Campus Safe Walk
Campus Safe Walk services are offered daily from 7 a.m. to midnight, providing a secure
option for students. This service, facilitated by UBalt campus safety officers and
UMBPD officers, ensures a safe escort on campus.

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) offers a confidential gateway to mental health
and wellness services. Available 24/7, this program provides students with access

The Basic Needs Virtual Resource Center is the primary location for students to find
information regarding different resources and supports related to a student’s basic
needs both here at The University of Baltimore and in the local community. Check back

Title IX: Sexual Harassment and other Sexual Misconduct
Title IX prohibits sex discrimination and provides, “No person in the United States
shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits
of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving
Federal financial assistance.” The University’s requirement not to discriminate on
the basis of sex extends to admission and employment.
