Pregnancy Accommodations

• Guidelines for faculty working with pregnant students are available via The University of Baltimore’s Policy Guide (UB I-5.3). This document refers pregnant students to whom they should contact to request adjustments, reporting harassment or discrimination due to pregnancy and other important questions related to students who are pregnant.
• The University of Baltimore (UBalt), consistent with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (Title IX) does not discriminate against any student or exclude any student from its education programs or activities, including any class or extracurricular activity, on the basis of the student’s pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy or recovery therefrom.

Support for Parties Involved

The University is aware that the parties involved, or witness to, a Prohibited Conduct may be uncertain, confused, or unaware of certain procedures or investigative processes available to them and possibly unfamiliar with the medical, emotional, trauma, and counseling support groups and services that are available.

 

In order to provide resources and to help alleviate the concerns of involved individuals, services are available that can provide support to individuals or witnesses through the various processes or services.

 

An individual having the need for assistance or information may at any time contact the following local crisis centers for sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Each has trained advocates who offer confidential support and information.

Medical Attention, Hospitals Offering a SAFE Exam (Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence)

Campus personnel will cooperate to assist a victim of Prohibited Conduct to obtain appropriate medical attention, including providing assistance to summon emergency personnel for transportation to the nearest designated hospital.
