At the University of Baltimore, we like to say that our alumni go everywhere, and do everything.

It's not an exaggeration: While a significant majority of UBalt graduates work and live right here in Maryland, an impressive number of them find jobs and build their lives in countries all over the globe.

Our peripatetic alumni do get around. Teaching English in Thailand? Check. Selling steel pipe in Turkey? Sure. Developing affordable housing in Pakistan? Definitely. Saving tigers in Bangladesh? Yes!

University of Baltimore students aren't just dipping into international waters for a year or two before returning home for a secure job in Baltimore or Washington. Many are lifers—they found a job in another country before or after graduation, and decided to stay. Or they were over there, returned home, then were pulled back to a second, third, or even fourth country (possibly in a completely different field). In other words, there is a real commitment to an international career for these mighty traveling alumni.

How do such important life choices begin?

For many students, the urge to go abroad for studies and career growth starts with the Global Field Studies program in the Merrick School of Business. For others, it's through the M.A. in Global Affairs and Human Security program in the College of Public Affairs. In the School of Law, it's through opportunities to study abroad in international and comparative law.

UBalt students and alumni will tell you that there's more than one way to get to where you want to go. If you have the urge to take up residence abroad, work remotely outside of the U.S., or travel back and forth between home and far away, UBalt can help you get started.
