McClean is Associate Professor and Director of the Bob Parsons Veterans Advocacy Clinic. He founded the clinic in 2014, where he directs student attorneys in the representation of veterans in a wide variety of litigation and legislative initiatives. Prior to joining the faculty, McClean was an assistant professor in the Department of Law, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he received the Outstanding Academy Educator Award in 2010. He twice received the Case Legal Advisor of the Year Award for service as the legal advisor to the Air Force Academy Honor Board, which oversees violations of the Honor Code. McClean served in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps from 2003 to 2014 and, in addition to teaching, served as special counsel to the Deputy General Counsel for Acquisition at the Pentagon, and held positions as a prosecutor and defense attorney. Prior to his commissioning, McClean served as a public defender in Lake County, Ohio. McClean received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, where he was the recipient of the Patricia A. Tobin Government Procurement Law Award for his academic achievement and scholarship in the area of government procurement law.
