This Merrick School of Business program is designed to produce leaders in the accounting field and in business in general. Students who have indicated a desire to major in accounting will be selected based on academic performance.
Area firms are extremely excited about this program. UBalt alumni are found throughout the Baltimore accounting community. This program allows area firms to interact with UBalt students who have already demonstrated strong academic performance and a desire to major in accounting, and it lays the groundwork for many strong opportunities.
Admission to the Accounting Honors program is by invitation only. Invitees, who have indicated a desire to major in accounting, will be selected based on performance in Intermediate Accounting I with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better and by faculty recommendation.

To graduate in good standing, an Accounting Honors student must meet the requirements of the Honors program.

Honors students who graduate in good standing receive a special designation on their transcripts upon graduation.
Accounting Honors students are also encouraged to participate in the Accelerated Bachelors/Masters program which provides opportunities to earn a graduate degree in accounting and business advisory services, finance, or taxation.
