University of Baltimore Named a 'Gold Campus' for Voter Participation

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge has honored The University of Baltimore for having both the highest voting rate for a four-year institution and the highest voter registration rate for a four-year institution, for efforts the institution made during the 2022 election cycle. For the third time since 2016, the University has received a Gold Campus award from the ALL IN Challenge.
'Impact Maryland' Features Reading by MFA Graduate Kondwani Fidel, Oct. 1

Authors from The University of Baltimore will be a part of the upcoming Baltimore Book Festival, set for Sept. 28-29 in the Waverly neighborhood on Greenmount Avenue between 30th and 32nd Street. This free event, organized by the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts, in partnership with the City of Baltimore, Waverly Main Street, Red Emma's, CityLit Project, and Peabody Heights Brewery, is a gathering of many of the city's leading literary lights.
U.S. News Ranks UBalt at #29 in North's Top Public Schools

The University of Baltimore is ranked at #29 in the category of Top Public Schools - Regional Universities (North) in the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges survey, released on Sept. 24. The number represents a seven-place jump from the University's ranking in the 2024 edition of the survey.
UBalt Announce Plans for 2025 Centennial

The University of Baltimore has announced plans for a series of celebrations, gatherings, exhibitions, talks and more to mark the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2025. Plans were made public today, Sept. 23, to begin a 100-day countdown to the first day of 2025 - the start of a year of both recalling the roots of the institution and forecasting its next century of growth and opportunity as a major contributor to life in Baltimore and beyond.
Documentary About Hubert Humphrey, Early Civil Rights Pioneer, to Premiere at UBalt, Sept. 24

The University of Baltimore will host a national premiere of the South Hill Films documentary film, "Mayor Humphrey of Minneapolis," on Sept. 24 in the Angelos Law Center. The film portrays a young Minnesota Mayor, Hubert H. Humphrey, who later became a U.S. vice president, during the 1940s.
Lady Brion, MFA '19, Named Maryland Poet Laureate

Lady Brion, MFA '19, a Baltimore-based writer, activist and spoken-word artist, has been named Maryland's 11th Poet Laureate. Brion, who performs and teaches both in the United States and abroad, received the honor from Maryland First Lady Dawn Moore and the Maryland State Arts Council in a ceremony on Sept. 16 at The Clifton House in Baltimore. According to MSAC, Brion, 34, is the youngest person to be presented with the title.
