Once financial aid has been disbursed to the Office of the Bursar, the process of ordering refund checks begins. All Federal, State, and Institutional Financial Aid refunds will be processed through the Comptroller of Maryland’s office. We will begin to process refunds as funds are disbursed. Please review the Office of Financial Aid Calendar for when disbursement begins.

All private loans through commercial lender refunds will be processed through the Office of the Bursar.

To assist with the timely receipt of financial aid refunds, please make sure your local address is correct in PeopleSoft. This can be accomplished by going to the My Student Center in the MyUB portal and reviewing the information contained in the Personal Information section. You can update your address by clicking the edit box next to your address to make any changes.

Also, in order for a refund to be generated for a student, their social security number must be listed in PeopleSoft.

If you are concerned about having funds to purchase books, we encourage you to sign up for the book credit program through the student portal page. The link is located directly below my student center section on your portal home page. The availability dates for signing up for a bookstore credit is listed on the Office of Financial Aid Calendar.

How do I determine if I will be receiving a refund?

  1. Log into MyUB and click on My Student Center under My Self Service in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Under the Finances section click Account Inquiry under My Account.
  3. Click Activity to view financial details for the current term.
  4. If you are receiving a refund, you will see Refund Student Annapolis in the Refund Column. Please note, your check will be mailed directly to your local address that is listed in MyUB, usually no later than 10 business days from the request date listed on your account.
  5. To track the status of your refund check, you should log into the State Comptroller's interactive Web site. To use this site, you will need to register as a vendor. If you are waiting for a check reissue, please note that this interactive link will not show the status of your check.
