Leadership Opportunities

Leadership photo

Leadership isn't just a position.  It's a way of life.

We believe all students have the potential to lead.  Explore our many offerings and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about yourself and those you work with.

The best part is, everything you do can be recorded on your Involvement Record on CSILink.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

  • Emerging Leaders Series

This series features six interactive workshops per semester to deepen your learning and understanding of leadership.  Sessions focus on the three facets of leadership: Self, Groups, and Society.

  • Established Leaders Roundtable
The Established Leaders Roundtable is designed to provide a unique experience to individuals with significant, documented leadership experience.  Through common readings, discussion of leadership challenges, and in-depth exploration, participants will develop their own personal leadership model.

The Established Leaders Roundtable will be offered in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, and will include five 2-hour meetings.  Application and scheduling information will be available soon.

  • Leadership Retreats

Retreats provide an opportunity for students to have a unique, intensive experience off-campus that helps them develop leadership skills.  Retreats are offered twice a year:

    - Spring Forward Retreat:  Scheduled for May 31-June 1, 2013 at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD.  This retreat is intended for returning and potential student leaders to meet and network, develop an individual leadership style and approach, understand teh culture of student leadership and advocacy within the context of UB, and develop a vision and legacy plan as a UB student leader.  Application is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Students must fill out the online application and submit a travel waiver and $25 deposit to secure a space on the retreat.
