Internships
The Merrick School of Business internship program is designed to augment classroom theory and to offer students opportunities to participate in carefully monitored, field-based learning experiences in organizations. The internship experience allows students to apply their education, gain experience in a particular field, and prepare for fulfilling careers.
Internships are typically part-time positions where students work at least 120 hours over the course of the semester. As an intern, students gain valuable professional experience, have the opportunity to earn academic credit.
Student may receive credit, and can even get paid for an internship. An internship should be related to students' academic and/or career interests. Many students consider internships as early as their sophomore year. This is also a great way for an organization to recruit entry-level talent.
Note: If you are seeking a noncredit internship—the UBalt Career Center is an excellence resource.
