M.S. IN Cyber Forensics

The 30-credit M.S. in Cyber Forensics program prepares you to excel in a rapidly changing field as you become an expert in investigating criminal activity involving computer and digital information systems, recovery and analysis of data, preservation of evidence and understanding the law. The program is designed for professionals who want to become expert at managing advanced technological resources to combat cyber threats and related crime. 

How the program works:

Through a 10-course curriculum, you'll develop skills and knowledge in 21st-century forensic investigations to become an agent of positive change. You'll gain practical, hands-on experience in a brand-new digital computer lab where you'll be able to break down computer hardware and learn to employ specific software for investigation purposes.

Admission Information

Application deadlines:

Admission will be offered depending on availability of space, strength of your credentials and sufficiency of time for processing.

  • A qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Applicants who do not meet all of these qualifications may, with the approval of the program's admission committee, be accepted if there is space available. Additional criteria may apply; see the UBalt Graduate Catalog for further information.

 

  • Let us know when you are ready to earn your master's degree by applying to the program. Our online application will only take you a few minutes to complete. Before you submit the application, you’ll be asked to use your credit card or bank account to pay the $50 application fee.
  • A Statement of Personal Interest can be submitted electronically as part of the online application.
  • Insider tips: The earlier you apply and submit a completed application, the faster you’ll receive an admission decision. Each one of your supporting admission documents may be sent individually. Your admission portal will keep track of what the UBalt Admission team has received.
    • When you attend an information session or discuss your application with an Admission counselor be sure to get your application fee waiver code and save yourself $50.
  • Have at least one professor or employer submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf; it should be sent in a sealed envelope with a signature across the sealed portion
  • Official transcript(s). Request that an official transcript of all prior college or university work (including graduate courses, if applicable) be sent directly from each institution attended; electronic transcripts sent to documents@ubalt.edu are encouraged.

The Maryland Police Officer Scholarship Program

The Maryland Police Officer Scholarship is ​awarded to current police officers or individuals planning to become a police officer, who are enrolled in an academic program that furthers their career in law enforcement. Recipients must pledge to work as a police officer in the state upon completion of their studies. ​

Who May Apply?

​Students that are current police officers or individuals planning to become a police officer after graduation who are:

  • Accepted for admission or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Maryland public senior institution.
  • A Maryland resident or have graduated from a Maryland high school.
  • Enrolled full-time or part-time pursuing a course of study or program that would further the recipient's career in law enforcement.
