Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor society that encourages and recognizes academic and professional excellence in the financial information fields. This includes: accounting, finance, data analytics, and information systems and technology fields.

Beta Alpha Psi logoBeta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.

 

Beta Alpha Psi is also recognized by The Rosenberg Center for Student Engagement and Inclusion as a student organization/club.

If a student qualifies they'll be invited to join Beta Alpha Psi. Members of the Theta Iota Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi are 
among the great students of the Merrick School of Business at The University of Baltimore. Our chapter has a 
history with alumni who are now firm partners, corporation executives, and industry leaders. 

Beta Alpha Psi holds its candidates and members to a high standard. Candidates must have an 
overall GPA of a 3.0 or higher and have earned an average of 3.0 or higher in upper-level major
courses.

Johnny Ramsey, CPA

Honor Society Adviser

Johnny Ramsey, CPA has more than 30 years of progressive accounting, auditing, and instructing experience related to federal accounting, state and local accounting, nonprofit and commercial accounting. Most recently, he served as an audit senior manager supervising financial statement audit engagements of U.S. government agencies. He managed teams of auditors and specialists who evaluated internal controls, tested financial statement balances and assessed the sustainability of management's corrective actions as the agencies worked toward achieving unmodified audit opinions. These nationwide audits include the extensive use of his knowledge of statistical sampling and testing of significant IT systems.
