Parking Tips: Weekends and After Hours
-
Always take your Bee Card or ticket with you.
You will need them to enter the facility when they are not staffed. Your Bee Card or ticket will provide access to the locked doors.
-
The Fitzgerald is cashless: Consider a Declining Balance Account
Credit and debit are accepted in-lane when tickets are pulled and paid at the marker rate; the attendant does not accept payment, or validate parking. To pay the $5 campus rate, all students, faculty and staff have the option to open a declining balance account by depositing funds in any amount. As long as there are funds in the account, the gate will open to allow entry when the account holder's Bee Card is scanned. Parkers then scan out at the exit gate, and $5 will be deducted from the account. The $5 rate is for a 24-hour period midnight to midnight; past midnight an additonal $5 per day will be deducted from the account. The funds roll over to successive semesters, and weekends are free. The account is held by the thrid party garage operator, who can be reached at ub@propark.com for questions, including about the account balance.
-
If you have a Bee Card and the overhead doors are closed
- Bee Card holders with parking plans can access both garages 24 hours a day.
- At the Fitzgerald Garage, pull up to the gate as usual. Swipe your card, park and take your Bee Card with you to re-enter the facility. The overhead door will open as you approach it to drive in and again when you drive out.
-
If you do not have a Bee Card and the garages are closed
You may access the Fitzgerald Garage at any time. Pull a ticket in the driveway entry lane and take the ticket with you to re-enter the facility.
-
If you lose your ticket and no attendant is on duty
There will be no attendant available to verify that you are eligible for the UBalt rate. You will need to pay the full rate.
-
If you forget or lose your Bee Card and need to leave a garage after business hours
- Contact the UBalt Police at 410.837.4444 for access to the parking garage.
- Retrieve your vehicle and drive up to the door; the overhead rolling door will automatically rise. Drive to the exit lane and press the intercom button. A live person will answer and remotely raise the gate to allow you to exit.
