Upcoming Workshops

The Office of Human Resources will offer the following workshops and training sessions in March:

Qi Gong
March 4
11 a.m. to noon
William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center, Room 143

Qi gong (pronounced CHEE-gong) is an internal Chinese meditative practice which often uses slow graceful movements and controlled breathing techniques to promote the circulation of qi (energy) within the human body and enhance a practitioner's overall health. Qi gong is gentler and less physically daunting than yoga, and is great for the office because it can be practiced from a standing position and doesn't involve any especially strenuous movements. For those familiar with Chinese medicine, Qi gong exercises stimulate the same meridians used in acupuncture.

Disclaimer: This session will be conducted by Noah Brandon, a UB staff member. Brandon is not a certified instructor. He uses qi gong for his own relaxation and health and he has graciously agreed to share it with us.
